Milford Motorhome Hire – Rental Agreement Summary

This summary outlines the key terms of your agreement with Milford Motorhome Hire. It does not replace the full Terms & Conditions, which remain legally binding and must be read in full. Once a booking request has been submitted, you will be emailed our full Rental Agreement which must be signed and returned with your 25% deposit, at this point, your booking is secured. 

Driver Eligibility

To drive a Milford Motorhome, drivers must:

• Be aged 25–75 years.
• Hold a full UK driving license for at least 2 years.
• Have no more than 6 penalty points (only two 3-point offences) in the past 3 years.
• Have no more than one fault or outstanding insurance claim in the past 3 years.
• Not have had insurance declined or cancelled, or had special insurance terms imposed.

Each driver must provide:

• A valid photo card license (with up-to-date address).
• An online license check code.
• Two proofs of address (matching the license address).
• A signed copy of this Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payments

• A 25% non-refundable booking deposit secures your hire.
• The remaining hire balance is due 28 days before collection.
• A £1,000 refundable security deposit (by BACS only) must be paid at least 24 hours before collection.
• Deposit refunds take up to 5 working days, pending vehicle return condition (see below).

Vehicle Return Requirements

The motorhome must be returned:

• Clean inside, with no damage, and all contents intact.
• With the toilet cassette emptied and cleaned.
• With a full tank of diesel.
• Failure to meet these may result in deductions from the security deposit.
  E.g.,
  • Unemptied toilet: £100 cleaning fee.
  • Overflowed toilet cassette: £250.
  • Pet hair or stains: £100+.
  • Missing fuel: £50 + cost of fuel.

Insurance and Liability

• Fully comprehensive insurance is included (UK & EU).
• You are liable for the £2,000 insurance excess in the event of a claim.
• Certain types of damage are not covered by insurance, including:
  • Wrong fuel – full engine repair cost is your responsibility.
  • Overhead damage (e.g., hitting a low bridge).
  • Keys left in vehicle leading to theft – you are fully liable.

Vehicle Use and Safety

• For leisure travel only – no racing, off-roading, or commercial use.
• Must be driven on paved roads only.
• Be aware of the vehicle’s height to avoid overhead collisions.
• Drive with care and comply with all road laws.

Pets and Smoking

• Small Dogs are allowed if declared and cleaned up after.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited – evidence of smoking will incur a £250 cleaning charge.

Breakdowns and Repairs

• UK and EU breakdown cover is included.
• Call us first for any mechanical or equipment issues.
• Do not attempt repairs yourself – we will guide next steps.

Cancellations

• 25% deposit is non-refundable.
• Refunds of the balance depend on notice period before hire:
  • >4 weeks: full refund of balance.
  • 2–4 weeks: 50% refund.
  • <2 weeks or no-show: no refund.
